Playing with the Rokinon 85mm @ 1.4. Difficult to do outdoors so found a willing subject in a shaded area. The DOF is so narrow. Need to keep practicing.

Thanks, Peter. Still getting used to the lens but, so far...I like it. Trying to shoot @ 1.4 as much as possible. My only other prime is the Nifty Fifty so still adjusting to the focal length of 85mm too. When you nail it...wow! It's crazy sharp @ 2.8. I like the challenge of this lens though. It's fun! :)

Great. I should find a way to use my nifty fifty more often because its just sits in the bag. I would love to have 85 1.4 also.

I don't use my nifty much at all either. Going to a show on Wed. and will bring both primes, as well as my Tammy 17-50 2.8, in the hopes of getting some indoor performance shots....if I get my bag in! ;)

My friend made this suit a few years ago, spent a ton of hours on it to make it look this awesome. He wears it out on special occasions like movie premieres. The crowd loves it, young or old. I went and hung out for a few minutes and shot some pictures this past weekend enjoy.. Canon t2i.

I hope you can. And I think there would be no prob since they are really small lens or short focal length. Most stadium or indoor are afraid of telephoto lens like 300mm to 500mm.

Thank you!

Good to know, I am using the nifty for shallow DOF photos, but I've never used it for portraits outdoors. Duh! Next time!...

Funny, but in the weekend I was experimenting with the long side of the 18-200 for subject isolation.

I really like my 75-300 as well, but the 5.6 at the 200-300 end just doesn't always cut it, and it's not stabilized. I'd love to have a 70-200 2.8, but since I am financially deficient for the foreseeable future it just isn't going to happen.

The 50 is real nice though. I'd love the 1.4 or 1.2 but, again, financially deficient.

I like your image. I think the 70-200 would have done a better job on bokeh, but the separation is definitely there. The lower priced lenses aren't as bad as some people make them out to be.

For instance, this image was done with the 75-300, one of my first images. While it's not creamy, I love the DOF that was achieved with the lens.

I re-edited that last one... I'm starting to really love PS. I need lots of practice with it though.
