Saw many painted storks at Muttukadu Backwaters, just south of Chennai, India. This was taken with the 7D + 100-400L from a rowboat, so I could approach a bit closer.

Painted storks are listed as near threatened species by IUCN.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

That's what being able to shoot at 1/1600 sec at F8 will get you! In this game as I am discovering, he who has light is king! ;)

Couldn't agree more, a tons of light, good expertise e the last, and most important, a brain behind the camera.

Sorry guys, I really have difficulty writing in English. I hope you can understand what I'm writing!

Took a trip with my photography buddy who was in town. We decided to make the short drive into San Francisco. Armed with only a 50 1.4 here are some shots from the day.

Some of the decorations for the moon festival.

During the Gold Rush Ross Alley was quite the seedy place. It was well known for its brothels and gambling spots. In a way it still holds its dark vibe.

Pretty sure these are lychee fruits

I'm a sucker for poppy color even if it's overshot graffiti.
