Since I personally like this shot a lot (Just sentimental value), do you guys have any ideas on how to improve it furthermore? I would like to print it, but so far it was always too noisy (no idea how I can effectively deal with that, without losing all the detail) or the colour saturation seemed to be different in print :O

Constructive criticism and editing always welcome.

What program are you using to process your shots?

There seems to be a tremendous amount of color noise. You might try to reduce it by moving the color luminance slider to the right AND the "smoothness" slider as well. This will reduce color noise on the entire image.

After doing that - to specifically reduce noise in the sky and water...use an adjustment brush and paint the entire sky and water. Then move the noise slider, associated with the brush, to 100. That will probably make the majority of the noise tolerable.

Ok...then try what I describes above. You should see quite a difference.

These and also maybe bring up some shadows a little.

I have both also but I use LR 95%. The other 5% is for Photoshop because I don't know much editing in photoshop :)

I find masking and brushing areas easier in PS, but that's about it... Strange, but at least I'm not the only one ^^

Yep! I just downloaded the jpg and played with it for literally 3 mins. I used the curves to pull up shadows.
