Spent a day last Sunday with our Car Club at Cars In The Park (http://www.carsinthepark.com/
)
As a motorsport enthusiast and competitor, I somehow found it hard to get enthused and photograph othe peoples cars - as interesting as they were.
However, over the tannoy system, I heard something that sounded like an owl. Much to my Club members surprise, I left our stand and headed for the arena:

The Falconry demonstration was by
http://www.jrcsfalconry.co.uk/
It was a pitty about the rain, but the birds sure did have personality and the handlers were very entertaing.
Initially, I was dissapointed to notice how prominent the birds' tethers were (from a photography point of view), but I've come to acknowledge them as a reminder that these are birds rarely seen in the wild, yet alone photographed at such close range.
Once again. a photography session in the rain - I note that JRCS are based in the Midlands, so I will be looking out for another of there shows.
