First Wedding - Heather & Dan - 06/23/2012

First wedding I've ever shot, and it was solo. I used to work with the bride, and she liked some of my previous photos from a softball game I shot for the company so much that a year after she contacted me to shoot her wedding.

I'm not sure how softball pictures = wedding pictures, but I figured if she thought I was good for it, I was going to make the pictures look as best as I could. I've been lurking in this forum for the past few months, and asked fellow photographers a LOT of questions.

I was pretty nervous when I got there the day of, but I think everything worked out just fine.

i like the retouching in those especially the b&w... and i think number 3 is the best of all of them.

Keep shooting weddings if you really feel passionate about it, that's my advise...

i like 4,5 and 8 best. good job.

Not a bad job, though I wish the processing was more consistent, you can see a huge difference between 5/6 and 7. I find the butt-hand-heart a little awkward lol.

These are some nice images! I just shot my first wedding too. I am (not yet!) a wedding pro, but here are my thoughts.

1. Very cool. I wish the dress wasn't quite so blown out. But nevertheless, great image.

2. Beautiful, wouldn't change a thing.

3. Nice shot. Maybe crop out some of the blank space at the top??

4. A nice image to remember the day. Not digging the processing, and the brides dress is totally blown out.

5 & 6. Both good captures, but again, the processing doesn't really do it for me. Too low contrast, the blacks are pretty gray (and maybe a bit blue?), my monitor is not calibrated well so I can't tell for sure.

7. Good shot, I would warm it up though.

8. Cool shot and cool idea. I agree with another poster that it is a little awkward that it is right on her butt! But I like it anyway.


Overall I think they will be very happy!
