Hi There
I have an old EOS 500 camera, could you tell me what Canon digital camera bodies would i be able to put my existing lens on, sorry a am a bit green to all of this:)

It has the EF mount so any of your lenses with this mount will work on any current Canon DSLR.

just to expand on the above, if your existing lenses are Canon ones, they'll work with any current (or previous model) of Canon DSLR. See: http://en.wikipedia.or​g …Canon_EOS_digit​al_cameras (external link) for model list.

If your lenses are older third party ones (the likes of Sigma / Tamron etc) then they will fit, & may work, but it's also possible for them to have issues working correctly, as the EOS lens communication spec hasn't ever been released to 3rd party manufacturers - it has been reverse-engineered by other vendors.
Any recent (past 5 years I'm guessing?) 3rd-party lenses for Canon should be fine.


some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:
