According to Canon Watch a new 24-70 IS Patent has surfaced.

Here we go again...

So just like the 70-200 series you'll now have the 24-70 mkII and the 24-70 IS versions to choose from and the IS versin will be msrp of 2799... sheesh

They haven't even started shipping. the 24-70 II. My guess it 5-10 years before we see another 24-70L.

$3-4K for a 24-70 "IS" seems way high. Some people need to learn how to hold a camera.... ;)

With the 24-70ii listed at $2300, $3k does not seem out of line.

For us on lowly crop cameras daydreaming of moving up to full frame a big stopper to me is the lack of an (ideally "L") replacement for the 17-55mm f/2.8 IS. If the 25-70L f/2.8 had IS and was at a reasonable price (£1000?) it would be great!
