They say it happens in three's... Andy Griffith - Ernest Borgnine - - - Who's next?

Two great actors that can never be replaced. Was just sitting here thinking of the roles I remember them in and the joy they brought. For me:

Andy Griffith in No Time For Sargents and as Sheriff Taylor in The Andy Griffith Show

Ernest Borgnine in McHales Navy, the movie Fire, and of course Airwolf and The Dirty Dozen Movies

What are your special memories of these two great actors?

Andy Griffith did some hilarious "cornpone" comedy routines in his early days. I think his best was a routine called "What It Was, Was Baseball..."

Borgnine was great in "Ice Station Zebra" as the Russian you really couldn't trust. He was also pretty good in "The Posieden Adventure." I think you could call Stella Stevens (as Borgnine's much younger wife) the first "Trophy Wife" portrayed on film!

Borgnine's IMDB Résumé is damn impressive: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000308/ (external link)

I know he was involved in a lot of grade-A stuff, but I'm still probably going to remember him most in Airwolf from watching it as a kid.

Betty White could be a contender, unfortunately... She has had an amazing life.

Now the airwolf theme is playing in my head.

Ever seen the Music Video for "Watin' on a woman"...now it's like an epitaph.

I'm gonna guess Dick Van Dyke. Hes around his late 80's by now. Would be sad to lose another very funny man.

I remember Ernie in Airwolf mainly, Dirty Dozen, Convoy and Home Improvement.
