Thanks, was pretty excited to get my first shots of a jumping spider. Might switch focus from damsels to jumping spiders as I think they're awesome.

Beautiful. Jumpers are some of my favorite bugs, but damsels are right up there, too :)

I've taken quite a few damsels and frankly getting a bit bored (want different species or some interesting light or something). Although, I do want one covered by dew but I have no ponds around me and take my photos at the Wetland Centre which is open 9.30-5.30

You know, I thought that too till today. Then I realised they are bloody everywhere and I just never looked.

Although I am jealous of the colourful ones they have in the states

Good series, bet it was wet too. When the sun is out you can find lots of hoverflies there but not so good for Dragonflies in my experience.

The first damsel pic is the best by far. Very good composition, a slight cheeky tilt to the head and the leaf oof in the corner, very nice.

Yea there's a tradeoff between lots of them and them flying away when you get close. I might give this another go with the weather is quite cold and rainy in the next few days; least that way when I find something it probably won't run away.
