Also that video-focused DSLR that's been rumoured. Could that be the 70D? Or will it be a new model line? Canon 5D MKIII + Canon 60D + 16-35 f/4L IS, Σ35 f/1.4 Art, 70-200 f/2.8L IS II

Jul 10, 2012 15:06 | #13 Unfortunately I feel the same. I wish Canon would realise the world is in ressession. Whilst most people expect a hike in the price of a newer model, what Canon has been doing lately with their pricing is ridiculous. While the NEX7, X Pro1 and OM-D are snapping at the DSLR's heels Canon better watch out they don't lose out heavily to that market. Ian

I just read a magazine ad, 5Diii, 24-70ii, flash and grip came to £6300 I'd like to see head to head comparisons of this set up, v one of the afore mentioned..........I think they are very aware of exactly where they are positioned in the market. That Canon 5DmkIII while overpriced for my needs is flying off shelves just as fast as they can make them. Their goal isn't to maximize the number of cameras they sell. It is to maximize profits and the two aren't exactly the same thing. Selling twice the cameras at half the profit would not be a wash as they would still have twice the overhead in service and manufacturing. I am serious....and don't call me Shirley.
