I'll admit, I laughed.
Honestly, I think Canon is charging what the market will bear, and they dictate a lot of that pricing by being such a major player in the industry.
Most folks that use this as a hobby or supplemental income shudder at the thought of shelling our 3600 bucks for a new body, but many pros tear through hardware anyway, and it just seems like a normal expense to some.
It doesn't change the fact that non-pro users want the same level of quality for an affordable price - but really, Canon is just selling things for the price that people will pay.
