And that's a big "if" regarding being in stock. All the "L" lenses sell out faster than you can say whippersnapper. :lol:

I bought a 50 1.4 last Christmas from Amazon and paid $340. Since the last holiday season was the best sale for Canon lenses in a few years, it's uncertain whether it will be that price again this year. If you can wait 4-5 months, I'd say wait and see, but personally I don't think it's worth the $30 if you really want the lens.

Great advice -- I think I'll have a hard time waiting that long, esp. as this time of year through the fall is the busiest photography season in my area. I will check out those links, Darin. Since I can't afford the L, the 1.4 is the way to go. :)
