About time you should get a Vegabond :)

hahaha they're too big, I don't use strobes and I have an inverter on my SUV so I really only need a small battery pack...which I already have, except the GF took it with her

I haven't cancelled my preorder yet. Wanna buy mine? $8000.00! ;)

Any kind of "lust" I had for the 1Dx went out the window when Mr. Diarrhea Mouth (Ken Rockwell) posted this:

"The Canon 1D X is only rated 12 FPS in manual focus and at 1/1,000 or faster and at maximum aperture and below ISO 25,600. Shoot at any other condition, and it slows. When I tested with an f/1.8 lens at f/2.2, it slowed to about 11.5 FPS (it has to wait for the blades to flap around), and at f/5.6, where the blades really have to move, it only clocked 8.5 FPS, in manual focus at ISO 100 at 1/1,000 manual shutter speed. "

Not going to pay extra for speed and only get a slight bump over the 5D3.

Okay so after 3 days of use my x100 has 2 white dust spots in the viewfinder on the front outside, well its obv not on the FRONT or I could wipe it off but you know what I mean, its on the front side. Obv doesn't effect picture quality. I read up and saw LOADS of complaints online. Is this something I should return it for or is this just a normal thing? They are annoying spots :) my dad said to "forget about 'em!" and just take pics. :D

I did find it to be very disappointing, 1k dropped on a camera and two dust bits get in already? Maybe it was there and it took me the 3 days to notice it.

Bueller?

I read that this morning too, which is funny they did it the day after i bought it lol! I don't really care though my budget was perfect for the lower price. Its been out there and sold for 2 years so I its fine I just don't know if the dust thing is totally normal for these sorts of camera's. It is very annoying. I'll call B&H monday.

you mean the new model? it would be $1,200 or more indeed...

you bought yours for $999 + 99 for the case? I was actually talking to the GF, trying to influence her into selling her Sony NEX and replace it with the X100

FB isn't bad but, I don't use it for personal reasons. A lot of my coworkers use FB and HIPAA is a big violation with the hospital. I don't want to lose my job due to privacy violation. It's a big deal where I work. A few people that I know got fired bcoz' of it. Lastly, I have a bunch of ex's on there and I don't want any trouble with the wifey.;)

Mine doesn't have any dust in the OVF. I posted earlier but you may have missed it but is the dust only in the OVF? Try a rocket blower on it and see if it can get some air through the edges. If the spots appear only in the EVF then it may be a dead pixel but that is super rare. New they are down to $999 on Amazon and I am seeing used ones hit $800 now.
