Mine doesn't have any dust in the OVF. I posted earlier but you may have missed it but is the dust only in the OVF? Try a rocket blower on it and see if it can get some air through the edges. If the spots appear only in the EVF then it may be a dead pixel but that is super rare. New they are down to $999 on Amazon and I am seeing used ones hit $800 now.

yeap that's the price I saw on Amazon too :D

So I'm just curious.. besides battery life, why do people like grips? I personally hate them because I hate the way they feel on the camera, a 1D series is a different story as it's actually part of the body, but a grip is just unnatural...

Balance when a heavier lens is put on them. More natural shooting position in portrait. I love grips and battery life is really at the bottom of the reason why i get them.

I mean maybe it's because I've only used 3rd party grips, but to be honest they just feel weird and flimsy which is why I don't like them. Even when screwed in I feel as if I were to hold it then the camera might break off from it. I do love the 1D bodies though, plus battery life is superb I got close to 1400 shots on a single charge (I also used LV for some of them).

Stop using cheap crappy third party grips. They are absolute trash. I use Canon OEM grips and you have a big difference in feel and quality. No complaints. I heard the 5dmkIII grip is molded even more so to the body that the 7D grip (which was the first grip from canon to look as if it was designed to continue the lines and form of the body)

Well I've never bought them, they always came with the camera. I don't have a need for a grip though, I can deal without one to be honest, I was just curious.

I don't think my 1D3's going to sell either, if that's the case maybe I'll just stay with Canon and Nikon  I'll get cheap lenses if that's the case then

Notice in my response i never said you purchased them :p I said stop using them  Price your 1D3 lower then. The market is telling you that with the non-sale.

Oh, haha, well, now we're on the same page ;)

As for my 1D3 it's priced at $1600 now. I don't want to go much lower, if I have to keep it I will, doesn't matter to me, I can still pick up an 85 1.8G for ~$400 which wont take me that long to save up for I'm halfway there.

I saw your listing. The problem was you over priced it to begin with. 1700 was too optimistic to get. I went back a few sale weeks the highest i saw was around 1650. Tough to get that with another 1d III sitting in the FS sale at 1450 i believe.

The way i look at it is i rather sell and lose say 100-200 bucks than to have say 1400 bucks sitting there. Thats your situation right now. 1400 you could take to invest further in Nikon. Unless you have the financial means to support two systems i wouldn't suggest it.

I use my Garmin 800 to do all the data recording for my rides. Have very little experience using the apps. But in general the apps are dependent on cellular data and that as you enter in and out of service you are liable to have a jump like that.
