The wife and I will be ordering rMBPs on tax free weekend. I had already ordered real Apple keyboards and mice for the rMBPs. Today I count not wait any longer...and broke out a keyboard and mouse set and put them on my Hack. :D

Nothing like a Mac fix to keep me going. ;) It has been awhile since the last Mac fix. My previous Mac was in 1984 with the 9" integrated monitor, a floppy drive, and all of 128k of RAM. I can remember it being a red letter day when I upgraded it to 512K. ha ha

Congrats!!!

Tell you what. I've got a Mac Plus (1 Meg) with external floppy, keyboard, mouse and 16 MHz Radius Accelerator (Yup, that's right, sixteen whole MegaHerz!) in a box out in our storage area. I also have an 8100AV and a Motorola PPC Clone from when Apple allowed (fora brief period) clones. They all work. :)

Je n'avais pas besoin de cette hypothèse-là.

I wish the wife still had her Apple IIe. That machine was such a deflection point for Apple, and ultimately a whole lot of current culture that takes email, wifi, and Internet access as a given.

I think I will be ordering a rMBP very soon. My 2008 MBP is pretty slow when it comes to photo editing. Why are you waiting for a tax free weekend? If you order from B&H there is no tax?

True. But for the wife, we need to purchase the One to One service with the training classes. You can only get One to One when you purchase a machine from Apple. The savings from no sales tax will be around $500 compared to two maxed rMBPs and the One to One service from a mall store. So I have no problem send the money on One to One.

Yesterday I ordered two thunderbolt cables, one USB Superdrive, and two Apple Cares from B&H. So once we take delivery of the laptops, we can sign up for Apple Care, and install the rMBPs connected to LaCie 6big RAID pairs (set up for 3TB raid1). Time Machine will backup on laptop to our 3TB Time Machine and the other laptop will backup to a Seagate 3TB USB 3 drive ($139 from Costco). I highly recommend anyone want Apple Care to look at the B&H prices. The cost was over $100 savings on each of the two copies I ordered...compared to via Apple (where I would have to also pay sales tax).
