The 2TB ext HD on my Mac is getting full and I want to add another drive. This one is on sale at a local store. I have a $50 gift card that's burning in my wallet :D

Is this a reasonable price? It looks like it is adaptable to Thunderbolt if I want to. But the cost of the adapter is more than the HDD so I probably won't do it.

Any thoughts?

Not a great price, I don't think. They're cheaper than that at Costco on a regular basis. The most recent Costco mailing shows that they will be $20 off starting July 12th, might get the price below $120.

it must be a Costco US. I did not see it in the .CA site. All I saw on the Canadian site were Western Digitals. I'm not a member but I will asked someone who is (if they have seen it in their mail).

Just the same, thanks for the info. I really don't know the pricings so it's helpful.

Cheers!

I have a pair of these drives (USB3) that I purchased at Costco 6-7 months ago for $129 ea. So far they've worked flawlessly. They're certainly not "Enterprise" build, I'm writing the same data to each drive, essentially a Raid1 but with 2 enclosures. I have no clue what a good price in Canada would be.

I've had solid performance from my GoFlex drive. Not blazing fast, but serving as a long-term storage device, it doesn't really matter. I'd go for it.
