A few from the first shoot I did with my Zeiss 85.

All shots were Canon 1D Mark IV, Zeiss 85 and California Sunbounce 6x4

Gorgeous shots...I particularly like the color shots because of her mesmerizing green eyes.

Appreciate the comments. I completely get the love of the colour. I originally planned this to be 100% B&W as I'm on a massive kick, but after playing with the colour tones I couldn't resist doing a few in colour.

I thought about putting a slight curves layer over the sand but I wanted them as natural as possible, might have a play with it though :D

Really appreciate the comments, 3 seems quite popular :D

If anyone's interested I uploaded a SOOC shot (just a random one) in full resolution from the shoot so you can see the clarity/colour tones that the Zeiss produces. Blew me away when I first saw it. FULLRES (external link)

This is with no output sharpening.

In the days of film

In the days of film, I would have shot this using an orange filter which would have reduced the freckles somewhat. Of course, these days, we can do that using an editing program.

I don't think it is wrong to minimize things like freckles, but, they are an integral part of your subject and I would certainly not remove them completely.

However, I do think it is unfair to shoot/process a portrait of a subject which accentuates things like freckles...

I realize that she doesn't wear any makeup but, I think that some lip gloss in a very neutral color would make her lips look better.

Females have been using makeup to one degree or another since the dawn of history (contrary to popular belief I was not around at that dawning).
A bit of light makeup often accentuates facial qualities or reduces some facial flaws...

Interesting comments, I personally love freckles but I did slightly dodge some of the more prominent ones.

As for the lips, my MUA did do them and topped up during the shoot but the wind was cracking and kept drying them out. I do agree a neutral tone would've helped a little.
