I know it uses a 82mm filter and I have a 77mm Singh Ray Vari-n-Trio. Do you think I'll be able to use it with an adapter (77-82)?

If it were an 82mm filter by itself, it would already vignette on full frame. Add a step down and you're going to get really bad vignette I'm sure. Lee kit is what I use and have my Singh-Ray as a convenient filter for when I'm on a 77mm lens.

In a word, nope.

Several cameras and more glass than I will admit to.

Thats what I figured. Do you use any kind of filter on this bad boy? I looked at image samples from this lens and its amazing. I plan on purchasing it shortly.
