its not as fishy on a crop. dont know what the angle of view comes down to.
113 degrees on APC-C vs. 180 degrees on a full frame.

I would personally not use the lens in a situation where I need to defish. the penalty on loss of resolution is too much. For landscape, you want to keep the horizon in the middle if you can, and keep vertical objects away from the edges. I used to shoot more with it now, not as much recently. here are a few on full frame I may have partially at least corrected distortion on this last one i agree but like you i have other lenses. i recently bought the sigma 15mm. it's my second go-around with this lens but i plan to keep it this time i would have bought the canon 15mm but the price is more than i wanted to pay. http://instagram.com/edraderphotography/

Jul 13, 2012 01:26 | #19 It's a fantastic lens, but you have to learn how to use it. Not for snap-shots or people's close-up - well, unless it's for fun. NWPhil

I didn't want to spend that much on 8-15 since it is a specialty lens which you don't use it that often. I have never tried the Canon 15mm FE, but by reading the reviews, it seems like a lot of people leaning toward the Sigma in term of performance. You might want to look into Sigma Fisheye. kevindar wrote: its not as fishy on a crop. dont know what the angle of view comes down to. I have to agree with you. Even on my 1DIV (1.3x sensor), its not fishy enough. Can't imaging how it is looks like on 1.6X at all. 1DXMKII | 5DMKIII | 7DMKII | 16-35 2.8L II | 24-70 2.8L II | 70-200 2.8L IS II | 85 1.2L II | 100 2.8L | SIGMA 50 1.4 ART | SIGMA 15 2.8 FISHEYE | (3) 600EX- RT | 055CXPRO4 + 498RC2

You wouldnt get a good even coverage. I like it for the "bendiness" of up-close portraits and look-downs Shot with crop sensor. Also experimenting with it on my IR 30D, but for the full fisheye effect I usually use the Sigma 10 DC. ....the best camera is the one you have on you at the time.
