All the shots look uniformly quite soft, Pauhana. Wonder if the lens needs MA? Or possibly the focus setting. Everything else looks good IMO.

agree .. look a little soft ... perhaps you can post your settings for each shot and we can try and identify the "problem"
BUT, I really like them, great composition

Example of settings. Using Canon 7D Sigma 150-500

Piping plover 1/3200 sec F/8.0 @ 500 mm ISO 800

Reddish Egret 1/2500 sec f/8.o at 500 mm ISO 800

Spot metering both. Shot in RAW

Camera setup per suggestion in Arthur Morris, Birds as Art.

Also willing to take suggestions.
