I was looking at the website for the new MacBooks and in their display comparison had an incredible image of a curvy desert canyon.

Anyone know where this is exactly? I would like to visit this place if it is in the USA and accessible.

Thanks!

That's part of Gunsight Point at Lake Powell.

Or are you speaking of the snow covered birch/aspen trees in the almost closed laptop? Those are often shot in southern colorado . . .

Looks like a dbl bend in the river; so i'm thinking this is Gooseneck bend Utah (near Mexican Hats) or Dead Horse Point (utah also).

If you're talking about this shot:

IMAGE: http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u262/hibernian1/Lake_Powell3.jpg

It's Lake Powell. If not, can't help you.

Wow... that 'comparo'. Is Apple seriously saying if you don't get the retina display on your MacBook items/sliders and such in Adobe/Lightroom will be blurry and fuzzy. And your email will also be blurry as well!

Awesome location though :)

LOL! That's the only shot I could find that showed the location and I pulled it off the internet.

That's it! Wow, what a place! I could camp there for days... :)

Whens a good time of year to get the water levels where they are in these shots?

For some reason I only like taking pictures with water in them. This is one of the first desert areas I have seriously considered driving all the way out for it.

You can get these shots anytime. A major drought since 1999 has left that white "bath tub ring", and its not going anywhere soon.

Dang. Water line should be up to the main white line? Thus submerging the middle section? That would be a nice photo.

Hey Bruce,
Do you know if it's accessible from land, or do you need a boat to get to that area? If accessible by land, it could be on the list for my next Page trip... ;-)a

That whole interior of Lake Powell is difficult to hike to. The Rainbow Bridge Trail is 23 miles round trip:

They do have reasonably priced boat tours into the interior that would be a good alternative:

I'm not sure where this exact location is, but there are many like it. Unfortunately for us, you have to access it from the Utah side.
