Yes I know this body is older than dirt, Yes I know you'll all tell me I'm wasting my time and go out and buy a newer rebel or something like that.

But I wanna give life to this old body before it gets replaced. Met a person the other day who has a bunch of EF-S lenses that they'll let me borrow.(mostly normal to telephoto zooms)

Problem is the 10D wont take EF-S, the way around it is to of course modify the lens. Seeing as I can't do that(because the lenses aren't mine) I was wondering if anyone ever attempted to modify the mount inside the mirror box to fit EF-S lenses?

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has ever thought about that, just wondering if anyone ever did. Back in 2003 I was 14 and had the least bit of interest in photography so unfortunately I didn't get to see the hay day of this camera.

Looking at the 20D box it doesn't look like a lot of work, I can also pick up a broken 20D just for the mount.

I'm in the classic car restoration business where we regularly swap in engines from 2000-2012 into car bodies of the 1950-1970s . So I'm not afraid of modifying things :)

And of course I will measure the distance between the rear element and the mirror, so no accidents happen.

I thought the mirrors were the same size, but apparently not:

You could always put a short extension tube on it rather than modifying anything permanently.

You'll probably end up with severe vignetting as the EF-s likely won't have a large enough image circle for the 10D but I"ve never tried it so I can't say for sure.

looks like the mirror box on the 10d is a big as a FF mirror box and of course the 20d is smaller. be interesting to see what happens.

I have one, but It's too big to focus on anything(only good for macro work).

Hi Maverick75, you coul'd try a lens modification instead of the camera mount, i show you an example:
http://www.canonistas.com …vo-efs-canon-eos-10d.html (external link)

and another one modification, more easy but depend of the lens model

The lenses don't belong to me so I cannot modify them.

I know Spanish so I was able to read that forum :)
