In the IT field we called it "nice try" as it's just inferior in every way. Also in the IT field. I certainly do not consider XP "crap", but Vista was. We have many machines in our school district still running XP. Jim

The reason is because all of the reviews I've, the biggest compliant is the processing speed in LR4.1 seems to slow down a lot over time at least for the windows version. So I'm staying away from it for now until they have it fixed. The reviews on Amazon says that even the Adobe developers acknowledge that this issue exist, but doesn't seem to have a fix for it. 5D Mk III & 7D | 430 EX II

XP was considered the "solid" version of Windows for years. Vista was trash. Windows 7 support is just now reaching a point where we can convert to 7-64. Only complaints so far are users who share Access databases over the network. They have been screwed by the combination of Win7 and Server 2010. Microsoft is pushing Sharepoint as a solution. ... No thanks. If you want my expert opinion ask me about synthesizers. If you want my professional opinion ask me about computers. If you want an amateurish but enthusiastic opinion ask me about cameras.

Anybody running LR4 on windows have the slow down issues? It has some issues. I have noticed this syncing a large catalog. However, at least in my case, highly hardware dependent. Both running WIN 7 and 8 GB RAM, an i7 laptop with a SSD drive runs circles around a desktop with Xeon/8 processors. Neither appear to be processor bound, so I attribute the difference to the SSD. It is more stable than OS X 10.7 in my experience. Definitely skip Vista. Let me clarify...in it's day XP was indeed solid and revered. But we don't live in the past. By today's standards XP is very limited and a security nightmare for sysadmins like myself. 5D MKIII | 24-105mm f/4 L| 50mm f/1.8 | 600EX-RT [FONT=Tahoma][COLOR=blue][FONT="]|
