I've been debating on how to proceed with my next bag purchase.

I initially thought about a roller, something along the lines of a LowePro x100 / x200
or Thinktank Airport...

But I started thinking about the possibility of using two smaller bags instead of all the gear in one...

It would be convenient to have the gear in one spot, but it definitely would be heavier.
However, these bags are wheeled, so that helps...

Your thoughts?

thanks!

I am planning of having two bodies with two lenses attached (the most being used) in one backpack. It is more easier for you to carry around than two small bags.

Bodies: 5DIII MkIII/ R5 mirrorles
Lenses: Canon RF 70-200 2.8 / Canon RF 85 1.2 DS/ Canon EF 100-400 II/ Canon RF 28-70 f2/Canon EF 85 1.2

I like to have a big bag that can hold everything and a smaller bag that I can take out with just the gear I need for a specific outing.

Get the big bag as in-house storage, and one smaller bag for on-the-go. This way you don't have to lug around everything all the time, only when you need everything.

I have been down this road. Needless to say I have alot of bags. For me, I had to try to define what I wanted. I have the TT streetwalker HD as my main bag, but I have outgrown it. I use a lowepro BP as a second bag. The TT has my 1d4 with 100-400 attached and the majority of my gear. The LP has my 5d2 with 24-105 attached and some gear. The majority of the time I am in my vehicles so both bags and tripod are with me. If something comes up, I grab the camera that meets the situation. If I intend to be away from the vehicle, I pack what I want in a TT retro 20 and take off.

For air travel, I have a TT airport security and another roller bag. Depending on what I am taking determines which bag I use. I also pack the TT 20 and maybe a BP for when I arrive.

Good Luck, Steve

I currently have 2 bags + a lens bag for my 150-500 and let me tell you it is a right pain in the preverbial. Going back to one large bag is getting to be quite high on my agenda, so if you need to get one I suggest getting one that will take the lot.

Ditto...

One "prime mover" and something out of which you can work comfortably.
