oldvultureface Goldmember More info | Flash exposure compensation is explained on page 104 of the manual. FEC can't be set in the pre-programmed modes, i.e., Portrait, Sports, etc. You can only adjust flash output when using 'Creative Zone' modes (P, Av, Tv, M).

I only use manual control, though sometimes Av when bracketing for HDR's but i read the manual and played with the flash settings..im getting the hang of it now :P. I was looking in to the 430 EX II

I bought the t3i with the kit lens 2 days ago but I'm finding it hard to use the onboard flash. My sx40 had the option to control the flash level and i cant seem to find anything like that on the t3i? Also can anyone reccomend a good offboard flash that's not overly expensive for the t3i?
