^^^ Very nice, but this is the Speed-Light tread. That shot would go great in the "Single Strobe" thread. But again, Beautiful shot!

A single bare speedlight (YN560-III) across the room shooting through a rectangular opening in a piece of cardboard 0.5m from the flash (follow the link to see some behind the scene shots) - to emulate moonlight through a large window:

Not sure how 'creative' it is but I label it a success for me. Used a 580EX II in a Westcott Rapid Box.

The wireless function works great, putting the flash on a stand and bouncing off or thru an umbrella. Add to it a 5-in-1 reflector and you're on your way.

I also have only the single flash like the thread starter. Can you elaborate please or dumb it down for me? What is a 5 in 1 reflector? How would I position these things to get even lighting from a single flash?

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

A simple reflector, available in many shapes and sizes. Each color has a different impact on the reflected light.

Its placement, and the color/surface used can be used to fill in shadows, or block direct light all together.
