windpig Chopped liver More info | Oct 19, 2013 15:16 | #1084 Anybody wondering whether it's worth the time and money to get into flash photography needs to look at RileyNZL's post, along with many others in this thread. I fail to see how any photographer could ever get bored as long as they have an off camera light source. Would you like to buy a vowel?

I fail to see how any photographer could ever get bored as long as they have an off camera light source. No doubt! That's a heck of a post! Great shots Riley! I come and go with flash, but it serioulsy opens up a ton of opportunities. The sky is the limit with creativity and honing your light sculpting skills as well. This seems to be time of year I start to break out the flash gear. Not sure why. I am currently trying to decide which ND filter to pick up so I can use my primes more in brighter conditions. More info | Did a bunch of single flash selfies today. This is one of the bunch. Going to try a few more single flash set ups and then add a second and play around some more. That should keep me off the streets for a few hours. Dan Marchant

GhanaTyper wrote in post #16377148 Very nice shot. Can you give details on your lighting setup ? Single speedlight in a long rectangular softbox directly above the subjects at 1/4 power. And the rest, is... well history? lol Josh Young wrote in post #16377268 I'll take a guess: umbrella-ish almost directly overhead with some spill into the background ![]() Pretty much, just with a rectangular softbox. :P JakAHearts wrote in post #16377558 What is lighting the backgroung here? Or is that a dropped in background? White curved wall, with light spill like Josh said. rejay14 wrote in post #16378761 Beautiful shots Encrypted. Excellent lighting Thank you!
