I like that one a lot LAURTS! I might have to use that, or at least the basic concept with a kids shoot I have coming up.

Agreed, this is why I have been so reluctant to post here...My shots are not "creative", just portraits. But then I re-read the the first post and felt like the OP was just looking for shots taken with a single speedlite. THe OP just happened to use the word "creative". Maybe I read it wrong.

I think I shared these already on this thread, but nevertheless, here they are again.

The flash used was located camera left about5ft, then about 6ft off the ground pointed at the subjects in a 36in octabox. o.o

Mind if I ask how you lit that top shot to get the light spot on the shoes and falling off around it?

Hi everyone.

I'm totally a noob to photography, but willing to learn. With all that i pieced together from this thread (big thank you to all), imho below is my best one on the first day playing with BFT. Please give me a few pointers.

The girl is my niece, doing her homeworks. The photo shot with the 85 1.8. The flash is 430 Ex, pointing camera left towrd white cabinets. I think it was on ETTL mode, at 0. Oh, i shoot jpeg; don't know n do not have any pp softwares. I imported the photo to my ipad n loaded up to Flickr.
