Very Nice shots! I like the color and sharpness.

I see you have all prime lenses. Which lens did you use?

thanks! i used the 35L and sigma 85 exclusively - you can probably tell which shot was shot with each. i've never shot metal before, but with the flailing hair I can't image for a second taking most of these shots at min. f/2.8 (these were mostly shot at f/1.4.)

Awesome! My problem is I want to go enjoy the show... and then get there and kind of want to take pictures. My camera would not be good in the pit though so I always leave it at home.

by pit do you mean mosh pit or photography pit? this is only my second time shooting from a photog pit ever - i'm more used to shooting from the former, and i've never regretted shooting a show, regardless.

also, any thoughts on processing are welcomed. i selected all photos, and edited them between 1-4 a.m. drunk, after the show. :/

Mosh Pit... I'd rather be in it than taking photos. Just my tastes. One day I'll shoot one of my favorite bands just to have the photos... for now I'd rather be a part of the show instead of documenting :)

sweet! I'm going to shoot a Band tonight and contemplating on which lens to use, my 85 prime or my 24-70. Guess i'll go in with the 85mm and play with the 24-70 later on.

what WB did you use? I hear for concerts, it's a good idea to use tungsten?

i manually changed WB in post. does anyone know if attempting to get WB closer in camera has benefits? like getting the exposure nailed? i'm assuming it matters, and is something i should address.

I dig #9 in particular - although having the complete headstock of the bass would've been better - sometimes not possible depending upon distance. I hate when I get home, find a great shot like that, only to have a headstock cut off, or fingertips, or similar.

#7 is great too...although personally I would crop it closer, and would clone out that distracting guitar neck in the background.

yeah, i generally am very mindful off not chopping off headstocks and toss any shots most shots when i do. that bothers me with this shot, too.
