Can you still use your lens normally with an extension tube on?

That's one VERY scary lens! 5:1! Yikes! If it were somewhat less expensive, it might be fun to fool around with, but somehow I don't think my technique would ever be good enough. But if you're an insect proctologist, it's probably essential... ;)

Edit: We need to get Rokinon/ProOptic, etc to come out with a version for $279. I'd be all over it!

Now all you need is extension tubes to uses with your macro lens.

Haaaaaargh! hard enough to get a sharp image without flash as it is... I'll wait my next macro obsession period for that!

Canon 6D | S35mm f1.4 | 135mm f2 The rest: T3i, 20D, 15mm f2.8, 15-85mm, 24mm f2.8, 50mm f1.8, 85mm f1.8, 90mm f2.8 macro, 55-250mm.
So long and thanks for all the fish

I find that the time between macro obsession periods gets shorter and shorter . . .

The lens is 1:1. How all the kenko stacked give me?? The more magnification the best!

The rule of thumb is that your magnification is increased by [focal length/tube length] - which is why the effect of tubes is much greater with shorter focal length lenses.

...actually tube/FL = magnification (with internal focus of lens at Infinity)

25mm tube / 50mm lens = 1/2 magnification at focal plane
25mm tube / 100mm lens = 1/4 magnification at focal plane

Isn't it extension/fl + default MM?

So 25mm tube on the EF 50mm/1.4 with a default MM of .15x, would be .5x +.15x = .65x?

Or..50mm ext. on the 100 macro, would be .5x + 1.00x = 1.5x?

Yes, that's right. Wow, 2 corrections for such a short post, I am embarrassed!

Although, this one is not really a correction (I said increase in magnification), but a clarification:)
