A few recent shots that will prove the G6 is a GREAT camera.

Some night shots in bucharest first.

Mark, that last one is astounding. I can feel the sun hurting my eyes (although that may be my hangover).

Hi RAW!!!

It shows that you have a 20D and G6... How do you differ them? I love to take photography like cityscape, nature, urban setting, buildings, interiors etc. I'm new to digital photography. Is it good to start with P&S or jump start to DSLR. Leaning towards G6 and Rebel... Thanks!

I will post pics soon when my camera arrives. Thanks guys!

Many aren't technically great, i'm posting for family and friends, not for photo nerds, but all those are taken w/my G6, so you can get an idea how well it works as an everyday camera, used by an amateur who's only had it for about a year.

Hi Sophia.

Well, if you need a camera to be with you all the time I recomend you buy a good P&S like the G6 and learn the camera (start with the manual), later when you feel comfortable with it and when you have enough saved go for a dSLR...that's what I did and I think is the best thing to do, because you will allways have your G6 to carry around and later your dSLR for serious photography, like weddings for eg.

With my G6 I am so confident that I think I can take pictures in every situation, I just have to do some time thinking what is best for that situation. I also have my Raynox 6600 with what I can take some relly nice storytelling pictures and I am planing to get the Hoya R72 for some IR photos.

The 20D I love because it is fast and capable of taking pictures with very high ISO settings...the only drawback is money...I don't have enough to buy the lenses I dream of.

After I moved up to dSLR I had to learn the camera yet again (starting with the manual), and still learning how to use it in diferent situations. Anyhow, the camera, the G6 and the 20D, has it's auto settings that you can use and they do some pretty darn good work...you just need the eye for photography this days.

I hope this helps you a bit...

And, guys thanks for supporting this thread...very nice pictures there.

My best regards,

Artan

Here is one of my favorites. Taken a few miles south of Mamoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone. the mountains are the Gallatin Mountains east of the park in Idaho. When I got to Mamouth Hot Springs, I found there is a Photography tour for $50. I signed up and at 5:30 am when it was time to head out, I was the only one there. It was the best $50 I spent on the whole trip. The lady guide was very nice, knowledgable, and of course she tailored the tour to my tastes. this shot was at 6:30 am and was worth the price of the tour (to me).

Suedezu, you have some very nice pictures. Because of the type of photography I do, I have a lot of "keystoning". It's very easy to fix. Do you like this better?

I bet! With that super-mono pod? Speaking of which, do you have a thread here discussing your setup?
