Great thread & great shots; not a bad one here.
I moved up from my "ancient" G-1 to an XT last year, but can't bear to get rid of it. Trying to decide to keep it just as a walk-around or even convert it & get into IR Photography.
Anyway, these are a couple of my favorites.

Not all my most favorite, but was one of my favorite shoots and locations. Dec 29, 2005 at Cathedral Rock, Colorado Springs--15 or so miles from my home--first visit (second yet to come). All taken with an old trusty G1 and R72 infrared filter.

Infrared + visible merged,

I left the windown down on my truck and when I went back out to roll it up I found this baby cardinal on my dash. Taken with my G3 and handheld - it's hard to set up a tripod inside a truck.

Sparky,

I guess you're pretty quick on the draw!

Nice story & shot.

Thank you for the compliments, zacker. the first 4 were with my old G3 and the rest were with my current G6. I really like this thread because it's proving that the Canon G-series cameras are trully capable of producing some great photography. Cheers!:D:D:D

I almost kept the bird because I couldn't get it out of the truck. I opened all the doors and shooed it out of the truck I thought. The next morning I found it sitting on the back seat looking out the back window at its parent sitting just outside the window. I opened the doors and chased it back and forth across the seat but it kept disappearing either behind the seat or hiding under the front seat. I finally opened the back window of the pickup and the bird found its way out. I was afraid I might injure it so I didn't try to catch it just shoo it out of the truck. It is amazing how fast that rascal was and how loud it could squawk.

that wouldve been an interesting conversation, listening to the parent bird admonish the kid for getting himself locked in a truck.

I enlarged the image - I thought the long side was limited to 640.

A blown hemi. I just got a copy of Photo Shop Elements 4 and I haven't learned how to eliminate the distracting background yet.
