Found this guy/gal munching on sweet potato vines in the pool area this morning.

This is him rolled up after I disturbed him (I was taking photos of some flowers):

Walking about after I moved him to a platform (cafe-style table) for photographing:

And munching on a deadheaded rose (which was later used to transport him to the outside world and the conservation area behind the house):

T3i with 100mm 2.8 macro, non-L. Handheld due to his awkward position while rolled up and his pretty fast movement when not. ;) Tripod not an option.

Thanks everyone. As I mentioned, when that caterpillar decides to move, it is no "slug", pardon the pun / mixed metaphor. About 2"/sec, I would say.

I seem to stumble across colorful critters while looking for shots of other stuff a fair bit - I think I need to wander through my garden areas and public gardens more...
