Now there's daft!

I have PS5 and the current RAW plugin is 6.7 but the Adobe updater has just offered me v6.6 ~ now how does that make sense???

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

Maybe because 6.7 is sort of a bastard version; ACR 7 processes and algorithms but ACR 6 interface.

Hmmmm! well I do have LR4.1 and that says RAW 7.1 but I thought with LR & PS camera Raw it was a case of 'n'er the twain shall meet'.

As all most ACR updates are for new cameras I think I will pass on this so called update for now and see what it offers in a few months time???

Just thought of something - is 6.7 a final version or an RC? If it is an RC it doesn't register itself in the part of PSCS that calls home to Papa Adobe, so as far as Adobe knows you are still on 6.5 or earlier.

Fair thought but any updates to ACR would have been what the updater 'offered' and the only reason this time I checked what was already in use was that 6.6 seemed like an older version, so the 6.7 one I accepted however long ago it was to so update PSCS5.

While the versions of ACR (mainly) are the same for LR & PS it still depends on what version of LR & PS you have as to what version ACR it takes. The last ACR for CS5 is 6.7. LR4 & CS6 require ACR7.x.

Hi

Many thanks for the qualified feedback:D Though only deepens the mystery as to why the Adobe Updater is now 'offering' me ACR 6.6 for CS5 ???
