Last week, just on a whim, drove by a little river area and was surprised to see a wonderful egret...
took my 1-4L and did finally get pics of egrets...
week later, finally had a chance to take out the 500L... damn, this thing is heavy... and needs getting used to...
as i was loading my car, wife comes out with my son... "take a picture!"
and she stands 5 feet from the camera... with the 500L mounted...
"step back"... so she does... a couple of steps...

well, wanting to get going... i just took a pic of the son... one day, i'll explain to her about MFD...

first stop, local nature center... i hate the fact that they're dredging the pond... not too many birds...
but did get a killdeer and a baby killdeer...

sorry, forgot to crop this, but not a great pic...
and the egret still fishing...

still learning about this big monster of a lens...
and i guess still getting used to taking pics with it.
used a monopod today... for the first time... needed to get some getting used to...
thanks for looking
