yes it wasnt as green as the one shown on the website I inserted. This I think is a Reed Beetle, kind of similar but wing case reaches right to tip of wings:

In my bath

just off to bed when noticed a Woodlouse (Porcellionid?) in my bath - couldnt resist oppurtunity although its now 1.20am GMT (oh well day off tomorrow). These are my first macros with my 20D - had to get manual to see how to adjust flash compensation (not possible on 420EX itself). Sto-fen Omni-bounce - also first for me.

put it on tissue from which it ran off and fell straight back in the bath:

Mostly use the Canon 60mmEFS macro. Nice lens for insects that are not too nervous and also for portraits. Not so good for butterflies/dragonflies that you need more working distance for.

Probably only use 20D for sport as I am perfectly happy with 350D macro set up. Image quality is no different but 20D has the 5fps and faster AF.
Was a bit worried by that spot at the bottom of the Louse head shot - had an idea thats what a hot pixel might look like but did the hot pixel test and sensor gets clean bill of health - just a couple of tiny dust spots that show at f20.
