These may seem odd questions but maybe someone has experience that they can relate.
- I have and FD 50mm 1.4. This lens is a beauty but can't be used on my 50D - except with and adapter. My question: I know it won't focus at infinity with an adapter without optics, but would it make a good macro lens?
- I have Schneider 105 and 150 componon enlarging lenses. They are 39mm screw mount. Does anyone know of an adapter that would permit them to be used for macro or copy work?
Thanks
Some years ago, before digital, a friend adapted a 50mm f2.8 EL Nikkor to his Nikon camera. He did this by way of bellows. Get got many insanely sharp images.
Now, EL Nikkors came in 39mm screw mounts like Schneiders. The trick is being able to mount the lens to the lens end of the bellows. What my friend did was use a Meopta enlarger lens plate/adapter with a 39mm screw thread. You could easily by Nikkon mount bellows then.
I'm sure you can still get EOS mountable bellows if you look hard.
To add, enlarger lenses are some of the sharpest lenses on the planet at any aperture,, especially Schneider, Nikkor and Rodenstock. They are truly flat field also.
