Thank you, vegabond! That looks like a pretty exciting rodeo; especially for the poor fellow on his way down!

Abacus, that detail looks very like a bridge near Glasgow Airport, in the photo below. The central section can be "rolled back" and lifted up to allow ships to pass underneath. Would the be about right?

Since the theme of the day seemed to be rivers, I took mine. I was trying to get some interesting sun flare effects on my lense, but it didn't turn out very well.

Yes, that's right. You have that correct.

Although mine was more a work of art than functional, it came from the original bridge that was replaced. It functioned for that same reason, to raise the bridge. The new bridge replacement just opened that prior weekend.

These artisitic representations of pyramids are about 6" high. It didn't occur to me until later that I should have had something in the shot that would show the scale. I don't think the plants do that well.
