I've been missing you guys! Some great pics; I like vegabond's rainbow shot and the mass migration of the birds; that runner looks really lonely. Abacus, the sunset and the Indianapolis lake are beautifully restful; and what on earth is going on with that boot!?

Stopped at a local golf course on the way over to the shops, looks pretty now though I expect it's rather cold in the wintertime...

I am rather curious about the boot as well! Ferris wheel is a killer shot!

It was a decoration at an event I was attending, for their Sunday brunch. A take on a disco ball I suppose.

I had problems with the lake. My camera was stashed in an airconditioned hotel room, and I brought it out into a hot and humid outdoors. The lens fogged up, and it took quite a span of time to clear up.

And it was a sunrise, not set.

I like that tractor shot. The effect you got was spectacular. The Ferris wheel shot was taken from an elevated highway (Alaska Way Viaduct) when I was stuck in traffic. I took advantage of the lack of movement to get a unique vantage point.

It was hard. My normal approach is spray & pray, then spend hours in Lightroom. This was totally different - it was "get enough photos of each kid that there will be something parents will want to buy, but not so many that they take forever choosing and clog up the booth"

So I would snap a small number of pictures of each of, let's say. twelve kids in a group over a two-minute dance number, then we moved on to the next group. From time to time someone would appear to swap memory cards so that the photos could be displayed - essentially unedited - to prospective purchasers.

Since it was kids I was shooting, and there was a really awesome illuminated sign in the background, I was always trying to go down to take a picture - essentially I spent twelve hours in a pose that I would call "lunge" if I were doing it at the gym. My quads really haven't forgiven me yet!

Having said all that, it was great fun and I would definitely do it again!

Anyway, here's today's of a nearby river and railway bridge - a "filler" photograph more than anything else

I was lucky enough to be invited to take photographs of another local musical company, Scene 2, this evening. The fact that my 24-105mm is broken made it hard to photograph in this small theatre, but I did my best with a nifty fifty and 70-200mm f/4
