Blossom and the Bee
Spent the afternoon trying to get a usable capture of a bee in flight.
This was the only one close to usable.
Not entirely a "swing and a miss" but close enough to "almost" to be irritating.

I hear your pain, Michael. I spent hours lying on a bank of a creek (Huffiness, not far from you, I think) and out of 20+ shots none were good, every time I focused on a bee, the beast just moved ever so slightly and the shot went down the tubes but I got some nice flowers instead

That's why I've been trying to use "AI-servo" mode more and trying to get a feel about when they're about to fly.
When I even THINK they're about to make a takeoff, I start shooting at my max fps whilst keeping the little beastie
centered in the focus point.
One of these days, I'll get my shot...then I'll be able to shake this obsession and move on.
(And if you believe that remark about moving on, I have a bridge I'd like to sell you)

I still like the bee photo, though
