Our Owl box in the back yard is now occupied...though not as intended.

However, I would imagine if an owl wanted to take up residency...it would be capable of its own eviction of the current occupant(s).

The image is a link to a fuller explanation of this picture, but a summary is this.

For May, I am going to be taking ONE photo per day using the above camera and the Fuji film. That film will be processed in June and I shall post my pictures from it when they come back from the developer.

That of course means that I am not going to be publishing the pictures here until June...

Truly one photo per day, no chimping, no Photoshop, no editing except to resize and add date / time info and comments.

Wish me luck!

Been mega busy all day, but did manage to grab my 365 - 2017 shot after a heavy burst of rain had subsided and the sun was fighting to break back thru

I agree with Tim great idea Alan. I have never shot film so it would be challenging.
I think this is a Whimbrel, I don't think these are common around here they just stopped in with the storm.

I cut my teeth on film, many, many moons ago
A few years back while having a clean out of the attic I can across my old 35mm and a bunch of 20yr out of date film, In a fit of nostalgia I loaded up some B&W and spent the next week or so clicking it away
I was very firmly looking back with rose tinted spectacles tho, digital is so much more accessible and rewarding for me, having said that tho, I will never say never

As a sidenote, back in 2011 (I cant believe it was actually that long ago), I decided to try to recreate the feel of shooting 35mm on my Canon 20D
I turned off the rear screen, locked the ISO to 400 and even found an old 256mb card that only held about 30 shots and flatly refused to review any shot until the card was full

I then uploaded the entire 'roll of film' including one junked shot when I accidentally tripped the shutter while walking along -?

The results can be found here, if anyone is interested

Looks like you did well on the roll of digital.
Not many Eagles around here, most of the time if I try to get a shot I get out with the tripod and they fly off before I get anywhere near them, by the time I set the tripod down there out of reach.
Tonight I thought I would go without the tripod so if he takes off I might get a in flight shot. And he just sat on the pilling and let me shot while the gnats ate me up.
shot while setting on the beach. Sure wish I had my tripod.

Great idea to lock the camera down and act as if it was a film one! Horrified to hear "I've never used film" - makes me feel so old! :-D

Love the eagle and the snail, the great texture of the wooden shed and that cool B+W of the shoreline. I've never really felt too confident with black and white, but it always looks good when other people do it!
