This is a field just around the corner from me and I see deer every now and then, but nothign with antlers, so today driving to the store this was a surprise. Plus there was another with a rack a little larger, but he was a little more shy and laid down pretty quickly after I got out of my car.

Beautiful image!...Love the color and composition...By your description, I take it that this was a "spur of the moment" shot?...Great job.

Thank you! Total spur of the moment. Had my camera inthe back of the car so had to get out put the camera, lens and tele on fix the adjustments and shoot.

Very nice shot! What is more amazing is the fact that buck stayed put long enough for you to get your gear ready to take the photo!

Thanks guys! There were actually two, but one kept getting up and down then lifting his head then eating. Couldn't get a clean shot of him though.
