Hi,
I just bought a 60d and I've encountered this weird problem. Sometimes, when the flash is up and I press the shutter button halfway to autofocus, the flash will flash even though I haven't actually taken a picture. Is this just a problem with my camera or is this normal? TIA.

Perfectly normal.

Yup. See p79 of the manual.

You don't have enough light for the camera to focus, so it is pulsing the flash to try to add enough light so it can find focus. This is perfectly normal and perfectly annoying for whoever is on the receiving end. To change this you need to get a flash for the hot shoe that has the AF assist light, such as the 430 EX II.

Hint: Don't return the camera for malfunctions whilst the user's guide is still wrapped in plastic.
