Jul 16, 2012 04:42 | #5 You don't have enough light for the camera to focus, so it is pulsing the flash to try to add enough light so it can find focus. This is perfectly normal and perfectly annoying for whoever is on the receiving end. To change this you need to get a flash for the hot shoe that has the AF assist light, such as the 430 EX II.
