after a beachwalk and taking lots of photos I cannot switch on my 600d anymore....does anybody have any idea what I can try to remedy this?????

Assumption is that you have pulled and reinstalled the battery? Made sure battery is charged? (Sorry, but always best to start with the obvious). Do you get any response if you connect the camera to a computer with the USB cable?
