Allright, so it's not a Canon camera. But I was thinking of swapping my gopro 2 for a Pentax Optio WG-2. But I haven't heard many opinions on it. Anyone have one? Do you have pics you can post? opinions? Thanks!

Hi

I came to the optio WG2 from a Canon D10. I use Canon SLRs but have had several canon point and shoot cameras that have died because of battery sensing issues (including the d10) and have lost confidence in sections of the Canon range? This was the primary reason I didn't wait for the D20 to become available in the UK.
The WG2 has several very appealing innovations that extend the capabilities of the camera beyond the D10. The digital microscope, interval shooting and high speed video are great to play with. However, despite the higher resolution and 'later generation' the picture quality is significantly inferior to the D10. Noise is evident at all ISOs and limits the ability to crop and blow up the image. It's irritating to know its there. This is so obvious that I sent images to Pentax to ask for advice on modifying the settings. the advice I received, despite several iterations, left me in no doubt that the Image quality I saw was acceptable to Pentax. They did not inspire confidence so I confirmed my doubts through experts in the camera store. I have subsequently seen several reviews marking down the camera for noise. In my hands, the battery life on the WG2 is nothing like the claims made by Pentax.
However, I still have the WG2. I had the option to return it but felt that the innovations just edged out the poor picture quality. I had to recognise that the circumstances under which it will be used requires a compromise and if quality is paramount, I will use the SLR.
