weird... I have 7 400x 16gb cards, and 2 400x 32 GB cards, and never ran into this issue with my 3 5D2s...

maybe this only affects certain Transcend lines (i.e. 266x line, or 400x, etc..)

I have a 400x 32gb Transcend card. While I havent had an issue with the card and 5d2, the card has given me trouble when trying to download pics to the iPad using a CF to iPad adapter. I bought a Sandisk Extreme card and the adapter worked fine. Not sure it's a minute compatibility issue or what but Sandisk is what I'm buying from now on. It costs more but I don't care for hiccups when the card is so important to the whole process.

Here's the deal

I went to Lozeau in Montréal where I brought the 2 cards and ask them gently to check the 2 cards if they were really only 8 gigs instead of 16
They did, and for sure it's a mistake from Transcend, cause we checked both cards on different cameras, 5d mark II, eos-1d and some other camera and they were in fact 8 gigs.
Anyway, I told the clerk that I had to take pictures in JPEG since I had twice less memory, I was on a nice trip.....and those pics meant something.

So he says JPEG is fine, I wasn't laughing about that statement , I told him there is a big difference between jpeg and Raw, and he said ''I ain't going to argue ''.....

So I ask him politely to get the manager, and a lady came up to me and I told her about the situation, that I lost a hour driving there, the gas, and my pictures that were Jpegs instead of RAW.
So she gave me a deal on 2 new ones......

So the clerk at the end told me ''everything is fine'', I told him, it's not about the cards really, but my vacation pics that are Jpgs and can't really work them as I want.....
bah, that's life

end of the story....

Had similar issue with a 32gb 133x Transcend card. Used it for a year and then started to only read/write around 15gb. No formatting or recovery software worked to rectify. Transcend said to send it in and replaced with New. It remains New as I am hesitant about using it any longer.
Loving the 400x's though.
