So were you based around the Loch Lomond area then?

I can see from your fabulous pics that you had a great time. If you visit Scotland again, base yourself up near the mainland side of Skye and take trips out from there - it is out of this world up there.

I cant wait to get up there again but not sure when that will be though. We have done 3 areas, first one based at Oban, then at Inverness, then last one was based just down from Kyle of Lochalsh - this was the best ever holiday, the scenery for miles around was stunning.

More stunning shots. I cant say that I have seen a Highland cattle that colour yet (they do scare me a bit lol).

Hope Stanley was ok while you were away - bet he was glad to have you back :D

Linda

Thanks Linda, we stayed in a Holiday Property Bond place called Tigh Mor on Loch Achray which was originally built as a hotel for Queen Victoria. A really lovely (and remote) old place.

Back up to Scotland next year as I have a wedding at Drumtochty Castle which is near Aberdeen, and which, happily, just happens to be the day before the British Open Golf Championship starts down the road in Muirfield so we're going to make it a hat-trick of Open championships in consecutive years!

The cows were much smaller than I had imagined and there were some just across the loch from our digs (that I never managed to get round to see properly) that, according to the local innkeeper, will come over to you and pose if you stop in the lay-by next to their field (a tourist bus stops there every afternoon!).

Stanley was very happy to see us and we were very happy to get back to him too! We all seem to be more appreciative of each other since our time apart :)

Dom I like them but I find the backrounds too distracting, I don't know if by opening up the background more to blur it out or using a background to make it clean?

Thanks Adrian, if I'd thought about it I would of taken a something to use as a background, these were shot at a rehearsal and they wanted a layed back informal sort shoot so I didn't want to encroach with to much kit all I took were two speedlites with softboxes and it was a fairly cluttered hall. My PS skills don't extend to blurring backgrounds which is something I need to address.
Here are some shots of the band in action so to speak.

Yeah they are pulling me in I have to say. I just dont feel the need for a tower PC anymore. I love the idea of a slimline Mac with a stunning screen. Do you rekon 27" a bit overkill? I use a 23" screen now and it feels spot on, so was thinking the 21.5" would be ok. All I do really is Photography, Video Editing and Web Development on the PC. Never play games on here anymore. The Xbox and PS3 have taken over for that. Damm technology, always sucks me in.

Don't forget to take the difference in resolution into account too. Bigger = better. Right? ;)

Anke wrote in post #15272579 (external link)
If you can afford 27 then do it. I've got a 24 currently and really want more screen real estate. I'm thinking 21.5 might be too small. Perhaps go into an Apple Store and try them out.

You'll have to make your mind up soon!

Sam, how much room do you have on your desk? We have 27" monitors on our creative desks at work and i dont like them, i prefer our 24 inch screens, purely because i feel i cant see the entire screen without having to turn my head to look around it. I find this tiring when working with them for long periods of time. If you have enough room to move a good few feet back, then perhaps they would be fine.

Hi Stuart, fellow newbie here.

If you're up for a cheep walkabout that'll get you going, I've got a Sigma EX 28-70 f2.8 about to go on ebay. It's good to go and sharp as on my 7D. I was looking at £200 BIN on eBay but make me a sensible offer that'll save me the fee's and the time to list it and it's your's.

This was taken with it when the Tour of Britain cycle race came past the house.

QUOTED IMAGE

PM me if you're interested

Thanks for the offer, however I complete on the house this Friday and that kind of money will go a hell of a long way towards the re-wire and new boiler...

I'm off to Brands on Saturday to make sure the 70-200 is still in working order ;)

Thanks again and good luck with the sale.

I'm not as think as you confused I am..

Perhaps they need some more movement in the musicians hands?

Gone up to just over £38 now. I purchased that very card from Amazon two months ago for £42. Still pretty good value though.
