Not that I'd be allowed to buy but how much?

Been looking more at that school photography offer from the other day, trying to work out what equipment I'd need.

Something along the lines of min. 2 studio strobes (+ diffusers), a background system, lightmeter?

A head teacher I know (I shot both her sons weddings in the last couple of years) asked me if I'd consider shooting their school photos.

I'm having a good think about whether it will be a good opportunity or not.

Ah no, I'd probably fail one of those! :|

That is what I am trying to decide...if it earns a few extra pennies a year it might be good. Depends of the workflow and processes etc.

a few extra pennies is always nice, especially if you can spend it on more shinny kit

Perhaps they need some more movement in the musicians hands?

I tried but could get the shutter speed right and with the drummer he was banging away so hard on the bass I was bouncing along the floor :D

Mike, 2 strobes for even lighting with either shoot through umbrellas or softboxes background (hilite would be perfect) and then a decent system like the one I mention for proof/ordering cards!

The Dunns system alows you to send out the proof cards and have the parents place orders online which are sent direct to the parents..

the amount of people here at work that bring me those little proof photos for me to scan and run copies off so they dont have to pay which I refuse to do but the spotty teenagers in the design dept do it for them anyway, I use Zenfolio for my website and its all built in so they can view online and order whatever via photobox and they do all the donkey work, I just get the profit which I think must be a safer bet as they have trouble saving them..
