Welcome along Hannah.. Your new site looks very impressive & I love the layout of your studio, it looks like a very workable and versatile space! :D

I totally agree with the newborn comments, if the parents request it or have the accessories I will take some pictures with them but I tend to go with the more natural shots or baby posed on a stretched throw! :)

bah! all the baby haters on here ;) Give me a good prop anyday.. one from yesterday ;)

Nice site Hannah, and that trip sounds good Richard.

Well done Mr Bridger, cracking lens ;)

Don't get me wrong I do like the effect they give & I could do with ordering some nice back drops, just not keen of the guff people stick on the baby's heads.. Lol!

Is that natural lighting or strobes?

I was sent a 9 months free unlimited BB code recently that due to already have Sky BB I was unable to use it.. While on the phone I had a chat with the guy on the phone who explained that if you have the free 2mb BB, if you go over the usage twice in 6 months they should automatically upgrade your package..

According to him this should have happened within the first two months of moving into our current house in 2008, but due to a glitch in the system that was only fixed 2 months ago we have only just be moved upto unlimited.

When he actually checked our usage it averages 18gb a month! So we have saved over £360.. :D

Quick (but not as quick) re-edit of the Nuthatch shot taking Marks edit as a base.

Better?

tis much better but the colour still looks a bit odd. Nuthatches are more pink and more blue - well the ones I've been watching lately are, yours looks a bit faded. And if I were being fussy, I'd crop out that thing on the bottom right just on edge of frame.

Bit of a mix, natural light wasn't quite enough so had to bounce my studio lights a bit. All done in the Mothers front room this.

Yep, understand where your coming from Penel and looking at it again, I would agree with you. I hadn't even noticed the post in the forground and now you mention it, it is a distraction.

Not sure how to pull the colour out in the bird without making the patches of grass in the background look like a nuke has gone off :(. Limited to LR4.3 and PSE7 for editing so I'll just have to play and see what works.

Cheers. ;)

I'd up the saturation a wee bit on the whole thing. Then I'd use the adjustment brush (in lightroom) and up the saturation a little bit more on the bird. If your circle is big enough with wide enough feathering it won't be noticeable. At least I think that's what I'd do. I might have a fiddle with the white balance too. I do all my editing on a desktop and right now I'm on the laptop so I can't look at the other computer.

One from yesterday- Knole Park. Interesting how the damaged trees are still surviving.

much better Andy still a bit yellow but overall better, I always find the best thing to do if your not sure is to pop into Photoshop and hit Auto Colour, 95% of the time it will fix most colour casts whatever they maybe. I normally do this if I just cant get the colour right in Aperture, well most of the time I actually use curves but thats because I have used that method for my day job for years, but auto colour works great.

Hi Hannah,

Welcome aboard! I'm always the last one to welcome newbies bty ;). The site is handy and we sometimes have meet ups. I tend to dip in and out and have bought items from other users from the site- can be very useful

There is a potn blurb book, where members may get their photos voted in. I think the last one was recently published.
