Hi Hannah,

Welcome aboard! I'm always the last one to welcome newbies bty ;). The site is handy and we sometimes have meet ups. I tend to dip in and out and have bought items from other users from the site- can be very useful

There is a potn blurb book, where members may get their photos voted in. I think the last one was recently published.

Did it ever get published? I know it was a few years overdue but ticking along, I didn't see the announcement about publication.

I haven't been around much (and I'm shot even less). We took possession of our house last month so we've been busy with the move and the refurbishment work. "Phase 1" is coming to a close now so I'll be able to unpack and live a bit of a normal life again soon (until Phase 2 starts of course).

Not sure what else I've missed, but congrats of the magazine cover Mark. Simply awesome!

I think I forgot the picture cover and got confused! Thought the one I saw was new, but, it was the one from 2009! I did get an email within the last 6 months to check my details and I thought something was stirring!

Still not published yet Kev, my Peru shot is the front cover, or so I was told a few months back before the guys PC crashed looking at the book thread.

Good stuff on the house, painful but will be well worth it in the end. Let me know when the TV and lazyboys are installed and I'll pop round ;)

Wowsers, that issue has been a really long time coming. I think Mike is involved in some form or another too. He might have more info.

Hello everyone - I am still around, just not taking pics yet but I do have an offer to throw out to you for a possible wedding shoot.

A colleague at work asked me today if I would be interested in doing her son's wedding (which I think she said was 23 August) and as I am not a 'people' photographer I said I wasnt confident enough to do it as I am only any good at bugs and birds lol.

I did tell her of some people that might be interested and that I would ask. So if anyone fancies a go, they live in the Crawley area, they are very down to earth people and I dont anticipate her being a pickey/fussy kind of person or hard to please. Not sure if its a registry or church wedding.

If anyone is interested, let me know and I will pass on her work email to you as I dont know her personal email and thats where my involvement would end.

Linda

Help. Does anyone have an idea why my photoshop elements 8 suddenly won't work. It launches, then when I click on edit, it looks like its doing something... then nothing. If I click on edit again it just closes. I've googled and it seems like there could be about a million reasons for it....

I don't ever click directly on the program - I just drag the file into it, so it's never done that (except it'll probably do it this evening to spite me!)

I followed a random bit of advice, hold down control, shift and alt, when I clicked on Edit, and it's opened. There's obviously something wrong between the opening bit and the getting to Edit bit, goodness knows what though. Tech Support is at work, I'll make him look at it later he'll be thrilled

Have you tried turning it off and back on again? :p

ps: I've been gone a while. Are Fridays now reserved for folks who've won our PotY contest or something? Where is everyone else?
